The island has an average temperature of 79°F (26°C) with great climate and biological diversity. The country is also the site of the first built cathedral, castle, monastery, and fortress in the Americas. Music and sport are significant parts of the Dominican culture, with Merengue and Bachata being the national dance and music, and baseball as the favorite sport.
